About Me:
I've been living in Arizona for about 4 years, and have gotten very interested in organic gardening, "green living," and local healthy eating. I'm looking for ideas on how to be able to do these things well in this hot dry climate. (I'm originally from southern California, where anything grows!!) Judy

Hi Judy, Thanks for the good thoughts. I was really tired - first week back in school - and feeling a bit punk so I really needed the whole weekend to rest and do what absolutely had to be done at home.

How did the session go? I'm really curious about people's reaction to that book. Did everyone bring food to share?

Hi Judy - Good to hear from you - so glad your mozz. came out so well. I made cream cheese about a week ago - turned out great. Actually, I have always used the same low-pastuerized milk. Where were you able to get raw milk - I would love to be able to get it?

Looking forward to seeing you Sat.

Hi Judy, it really doesn't take too long to get on Ravelry - let me know when you make it so I can go look for you there. Thanks for your doggie's names. Daisy would adore playing with them if it wasn't so far. Daisy loves - LOVES - having doggy friends. We need to get a friend for her but want to wait to adopt again until after we move next summer (assuming our house sells).

Hi Judy, Those sweaters are terrific. Your Pit (what are their names?) looks as though he thinks he is quite the big shot in his and your white girl looks like she is purposefully modeling hers with great pride. The chicks are adorable.

Yes, even our vet said, "It was meant to be" speaking of Doug showng up at the exact moment he did otherwise she probably would have been hit again - and after we had lost Abbey. Abbey was the type of dog who would not allow any other animal to even come into our yard. If she had still been alive she never would have allowed Daisy into our lives.

I think you'll like Ravelry but it does take up a lot of time to keep up with it - I only check it out about once a week if that. I can't remember if my name on Ravelry is Lindy or turtlewoman? :-D

Judy, By any chance are you on Ravelry?

Actually, my husband found Daisy. She had been hit by a car and left out on the highway. She was trying to claw her way off the road (broken pelvis) when Doug saw her. He stopped out in the middle of 4-lane Hwy. 60, scooped her off the pavement and took her immediately to our vet in Wickenburg. We had just (2 weeks earlier) lost our 12 1/2 year old Abbey to cancer and were not ready for another dog. However, destiny intervened and we picked Daisy up from our vets 11 days later. When Doug found her she had been a homeless street puppy (vet said she was about 6 mos. old), starving, emaciated, filthy. It took her a long time to understand that she had a forever home and that no one was ever going to treat her badly again. She still hates loud noises of any kind and it has taken her the 2 1/2 years she has been with us to get used to riding in a car without fear. She still doesn't like it much but will go for a ride without a fuss. She acquired her name during her 11 day stay at the vet's - the girls who took care of her named her and we kept it.

You're right - your white dog does have cattle dog ears. Your pit is really handsome.

Hi Judy, How 'bout a larger pic. of your 4-legged children :). My girl, Daisy Mae, is possibly part Pit Bull but we'll never know for sure as she was a rescue from the streets. She is the sweetest thing in the whole world :-D. She doesn't have any of the typical pit characteristics so well described by Emily except for the knock-me-down greeting.

I look forward to seeing you at the next book gathering.

Yay! I love it when people read my blog (there's nothing more satisfying to a writer than a voluntary audience.) Yes, the Doze is a LARGE pitbull, with all the wonderful bully characteristics pit parents love - you know, hyperactive table clearing tails, exuberant knock-you-down greetings, enthusiastic licking of hands, feet, legs, and faces, snoring, belching, and (ahem) farting. Oh well, we love him anyway.

Hi Judy. I just wanted to mention how nice it was to meet you at the book club meeting this morning. I enjoyed the conversation so much, and can't wait for the next gathering!
