I'm filling my front beds, which face the street. I was able to find blight guidelines that limit fences to one material and three feet tall, but no specific rules about plant row covers.Obviously, without shade there's no garden- what are sensibl...

meanwhile, herbs, cukes, peppers, greens, 'maters all in, and if I have the energy tonight I'll put the corn, cabbage and spinach in too. we'll see. whoo! how hot was it today? I feel like I ran a race around the world and we were only out there about five hours - but it was in the heat of the… Continue

Hello,
I saw a few of your posts on my HOA thread. I'm curious to learn more about what you are trying to achieve with your project. Please drop me a line sometime.
take it easy,

Doing pretty good! We now have 4 hens and a few additional planting areas so it keeps us busy. Love to read your posts/blogs, keep up all the great work you are doing!

Hello Tenacity: Sounds like you are doing something similar to my wife and I. We are turning an abandoned house on a 20000 sf lot in south Phx into a commercial/subsistence garden. I would enjoy corresponding with someone having similar experiences. What is your project, motivations, goals etc.? Ours is simple "to grow more food than we consume so as to add to the food independence of our community." Though we wouldn't eat solely off our property, the Quantity is the thing. We are new to growing, about two years in. Hope to hear from you and believe me I understand how difficult it is to find time for anything but our projects----Ruth and Charly

Wow! Wish I stopped working with the results you get! I got 16 annuals planted and oh yeah, survived the visit from my big sister and her 4 year old grandson - my great nephew. My dogs (2), cats (3), and I are ready for our nervous breakdowns, but the chickens are fine. I would love to be as resilient and now oriented as the hens are.

Keep holding on!
