I recently read an article that said some parts of the country have high levels of lead and other contaminants in the soil. I have two questions: 1) Are there any heavy metals or other contaminants that are known to be prevalent in this area? 2) ...

We planted one Anna and one Dorsett Golden apple tree in January. The leaves look curly, a little yellow, and generally unhappy right now, and someone suggested adding chelated iron, as there is not enough iron in our soil for apples. I fertilized...

My mother was at my house and noticed a tiny California pepper tree volunteer in my front planter, and she started to pull it out. I said, "No, don't!" I like them and I think they're pretty, and I'm of a mind that if it's not Bermuda grass and it...

Hi Jana, i made the 'crop circles' as a no dig garden. It is raised about 20cm above the ground as the origional ground is clay. The chickens in the dome are moved on to the crop circle when I have harvested. The chicken dome is the same size as the crop circle. You are welcome to come and have a look but It s a bit far!!!! insn't it. I have a web site www.greenurbanliving.co.nz which i have just started so will be adding posts to it further explaining them.

Have a great day, Its winter here and raining!!

Jana,

This looks really tempting, if it is in good shape. I'd be willing to split this with you, if you can do the driving. If I end up moving, I will cede my half to you.

Whatchya think?

Harbor Freight Central Electric Chipper

Decent condition wood chipper from Harbor Freight. New cost approx $150, asking only $75. Used for one season, just really didn't need it as bad as i thought I did. Almost new condition, few marks/scrapes, works fine, still sharp. Minor paint fading from the sun. Can demo if desired, near Frye/Dobson.

Jana,

Sounds like we are close! I'm on Elna Rae just east of Hardy. I haven't figured out this forum software yet. Give me a shout on email - lisettelv at earthlink dot net. I'd love to share some seeds and cuttings with you to help you get started.
