Interesting. Does she sell them anywhere in town? I just spent $17 for a chicken at the PHX public Market. I'd be stoked if I could get a good chicken for $10. What do you mean by "butcher" exactly? Do we have the kill and clean them ourselves? Or…

Just received an email from Local Harvest about a free poultry tour. I had emailed her earlier this year about the price of her pastured chickens - $10 each. You do have to butcher them yourself though. Might be an interesting tour.

Oh, how exciting! I keep kicking around the idea of raw goats milk at least for cheese if not for drinking. Don't know if I could get my husband or the 2 young men to do it though.

Profile Information

About Me:
I live in NE Mesa in an old orange grove. I'm married and have 2 practically grown sons and a dog. We've lived in our current home 19 years and have gone through many landscaping changes during that time. I wish I had known about permaculture from the start. At least I'm learning now and can hopefully adapt much of my lot to it.

We live on approximately 1/3 of an acre and have 3 navel trees, a plum, and a lemon. I've had vegie gardens off and on through our time here and plan on it being permanent from now on.
