Hi Denise,
I wonder if you have found time to hook up that old scanner and scan the Tillsmith manual. No hurry, but still very interested! We got snow yesterday & big wind: 30 amps + for easily 20 hours!

I'm heaing impaired and it is difficult for me on the phone. My Email is roperdoug@bellsouth.net. I'm going to try and get some photo's instead of "cute" drawings.
My digital camera was stolen but I took some pictures with a disposable. I have to wait until it is developed. I did do a rough drawing which is attached. The motor is a Brigg & Stratton model 130202-0140-01.

The one I'm working on is the Tillsmith 509809 with a 5 horse Brigg Stratton and front tines. I don't know if they are similar but it's mssing the linkage between the shift rod on the handle and the rod attached to the pulley assembly. I'm waiting t…
My husband and I kept bees in town 20 years ago until the domestic bees were taken over by the africanized bees. So sad, it was wonderful to have fresh honey and bees wax for quilting. They were so aggressive that we had to get rid of the hives. Hav…
We've lived in Phoenix for over 20 years now and have had a garden - both winter and summer - for most of those years. I grew up on a farm in so. Indiana, both sets of grandparents had a farm and I really miss the good taste of fresh produce. My great-grandmother raised chickens, too, and the boys and I would like to try our hand at having some "in-town" chickens for eggs and fertilizer for the garden.
Yes, Denise, that's me! Lisa was in my class. Karen told me years ago that you were here, but I never took the initiative to look you up. She is in Indiana with her family. I see you are raising chickens. My fiance and I are attending a workshop to do the same on Thursday. We'll see if it works out. In what part of the Valley do you live?
Hi Denise - I might suggest that you rinse the barrel out, it may have some shampoo residue. I enjoyed having you guys at the workshop and look forward to seeing you at future events!
Sorry I didn't respond sooner I had a heatstroke, I am still recovering. I do not live near you, I was asking how many you have, because if I have room for them I would keep them here to care for them. I can't remember but I think you had more than I could fit in my extra coop.
I'm sure we could manage it. I work at Starbucks in the Biltmore area and drive from North Phoenix to ASU pretty much everyday so your house would be on my way no matter where I was going. Between me and my girlfriend I'm sure we could pop in on them quite often. Let me know next month! :)
Yes, I think they are lawnmower wheels, $6 each at Ace. They are on a metal rod that is attached to the bottom of the coop. Pretty wobbly, but I'm not running races. I tried a nest box on the perches, but the girls didn't like it. As they are now free ranging all day, they have favorite spots in the yard, an old wood crate under a tipped up wheelbarrow and the "waiting not working" compost bin. Thank you for the compliment on the girl's behalf! They are such fun! Check out my description of "Chickens chasing Crickets" at www.azhomegrownsolutions.org
Saw your post on ordering chicks from Myron, I have ordered for three to go with my flock of four. If you look on my page, there is a description of my chicken tractor. You are welcome to come see it or ask questions online.
Lylah - likewise to you and Michael - I feel connected through our tweets and on this site - one day we will meet in a class! Another hands-on Herb Planting class is coming in 2010!
Happy holidays and a peace-filled new year to all.

I have not met many of you because I am always so busy with school, work and kids. But I am so very grateful every time I do get the privilege to meet someone involved in the guild. I am from Oregon and often feel out of place here in NE Phoenix. Th…
Hi Lylah,
