Hopefully other people will share opinions. I marginally prefer the Sport to the Sun Oven because my chicken is guaranteed to come out tender and I can fit two medium pots in in rather than one large one in the Sun Oven. I find it easier to transp...

I would like to give it a try, depending on cost, travel distance, etc. What is your cross street with Cactus?

There is a company based right here in Scottsdale that has been doing GMO trees for several years at least. There are postings I made about it in the archives of the old PPG yahoogroup. Scary, indeed.

AZ Homegrown Solutions - important info - read before 12/31/08!

Donations to Resources for Health can be applied to the Arizona Helping the Working Poor Tax Credit. Making a charitable contribution can actually put money back in your pocket! What this means is that in addition to a federal tax deduction, if you itemize your deductions and you contribute to Resources for Health, you may be eligible for a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit of up to $200 for an individual filer and up to $400 for a married couple filing jointly. This tax credit can be taken in… Continue

Hey Anne,
Could you take a look at the Tree Day page? There is a section down the page a bit that says Roots & Shoots are selling bulbs. Is that from last year? Should i keep it up or take the info down? Just let me know. Thanks! Ericka

FYI, the Phoenix chapter of the Arizona Archaeology Society is having its first meeting of the season this Thursday at Pueblo Grande Museum. We're having chili at 6:30 and the meeting starts at 7:30. I hope to get a group started for the museum garden. Al - 602-916-5490.

I guess I am replying late because I have not viewed this lately. I am employed as a Academic Advisor at Mesa Community College and have been involved in environmental issues most of my life. I completed Transition Town training in New Mexico this last weekend, I also need to educate myself in permaculture. Hopefully you will be at Transition Towns Phoenix.

thanks for coming out today. it was nice to meet you and your family. I talked it over with my team and we've decided to keep the raised beds... it would be too much to try and change that order now, but I think they will work out. I'm excited about getting it going... you've got me excited about it all. thanks again!

Yes, it is. Unfortunately, not a single one of the 100-some people who signed up for our mailing list actually showed up to be a member....so right now the community is just a few of us. But we are ALWAYS looking for members, supporters, people interested, so stop by some Sunday and say hey and we'll give you a tour. Generally working from 11/noon till sunset. its on the corner of 6th st. and Garfield in downtown Phx. Hope to see you soon!

Anne, excellent idea. I don't know that the kids from Faith North can go anywhere . . . there's been deep cuts on all extracurricular activities due to the current economy.

I'll ask Vice Principle Susan Engdahl if the District would allow homeschoolers to participate in the garden project at Faith North.

As a matter of fact, you should probably call her at 602-257-3914 and mention my name (Cindy Findley). I would leave her email address in this post but the "bots" would probably spams her relentlessly.
