When we make the final shift to the Cactus Rd. Farm I'll be getting some dairy goats. We're evaluating how many Nubians to acquire.

In that - we're wondering what the interest in fresh, raw goats milk from goats might be. Our goats will be free of CL (Caseous Lymphadenitis)) and CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis) and from healthy stock.

Have a wonderful day!!!! Lylah

Mostly some water, heat source and maybe a table like area. Not too much criteria at this time for me. Ruthanne and I were just talking about what it would take to put one together here. Too many things happening right now to do more than talk but next year I should be able to throw something together.
I just use my Camp Chef explorer two burner propane stove and a couple of folding tables when we can outside.

My wife and mother in law had two massive all-american pressure canners for a day doing hamburger ( we three-way split a grass fed beef from northern new mexico).

Then when the apples came in from Utah they did two big water bath canners simultaneously of applesauce and apple rings.

it does not take much of a set up.
that sounds pretty good....we've got 2 bbq - gas grills and when i get up the nerve to begin using my all american canner....i think i'll use one of those grills outside....
back to the topic at hand I know a dairy goat lady in tucson got stepped on pretty hard by the state a couple of years ago.

There was/is a class A r*w m*lk d**iry in Queen Creek, but I have not been out there for a year or so.
Put me down as a "maybe". I don't care for the taste of the milk. But I do love me some goat cheese!

I sure like using the bottled fish emulsion and mixing with water. I guess it's not the most economical but mine sure lasts a long time plus you can use it with flowers, veges and just about everything. I generally don't fertilize veges as when p...

Thanks Alice. This looks very interesting. It seems like it's the same concept as making pickles and other fermented veges. I think I'm going to try it!
