Vegetable gardening is a year-round activity in the low desert when you know how to work with nature and what grows best and when. By applying permaculture principles to garden design you enhance your chance of having a successful garden. This class will cover site selection, garden design, soil testing and amending, dealing with Bermuda grass (mulch layered gardens) in addition to water, sun and protecting your garden during all seasons. After this class you will be prepared to start your first garden or improve the one you already have! Instructor Doreen Pollack is a master gardener and permaculture course graduate and uses this knowledge and her own personal experiences to help make your garden experience just fun!
The best place to park is at the Southeast corner of Filmore & Central in the FREE lot, OR at the Downtown Public Market; (SE corner of Central Ave. & McKinley) then walk south on Central, past the Cronkite building and into the UCENT building, up the stairs in the main lobby and to the right. It's the first classroom # 234.
