Food Preserving 101
Date: Wednesday, July 15th, 6:00 – 7:30 PM
Instructor: Heather Welch
Location: Drip Coffee Lounge
Requested donation: $10 (Cash or check only)
RSVP: Limit 20 people
Coffee and drinks only available for sale until 6 PM!

Preserve your harvest! Learn the process of harvesting, cooking, and canning what you grow. Make preserves, canned fruit, pie fillings and more. We will be discussing food preservation in the form of canning, drying, freezing, pickling and fermenting. You will learn how to prepare foods for canning, food safety, all about canning jars and boiling water and pressure cooker methods.

NOTE: This is a lecture, but there is a hands-on canning on July 19th. Click here for details.

Do my 6 1/2 week old Amricaunas still need a heat lamp at night if they are outside? I have moved them to a new location and I'm not sure if the extesion cord goes that far, but I will figure something out if they need heat. Thanks.
