Join us in creating a more sustainable Phoenix!
Our mission is to inspire sustainable urban living through education, community involvement and creative cooperation.
Programs offered include tours of local sustainable homes, classes, hands-on training and event demonstration booths.
Annual events include the Fruit Tree Sale, Mesquite Bean Milling & Pancake Breakfast and the Tour de Coops, an annual tour of chicken coops across the Valley.
Originally the Phoenix Permaculture Guild, we became the VPA in 2011 reflecting the reach of this growing community.
The term “permaculture” combines "permanent" + "(agri)culture" and addresses sustainability and interdependence of human and natural ecosystems.

The VPA is pleased to announce its Speaker Series topic for the month of February is seeds and seed saving. In February some classes and events will be centered around harvesting and trading seeds.
Please join us at the Nina Mason Pulliam Audubon Center on February 10th for an evening speaking engagement with local Permaculture celebrity, Bill McDorman. Bill McDorman is Executive Director of Native Seeds/SEARCH (NS/S), has been in the seed business almost 30 years, founded 3 seed companies and co-founded several non-profits including the Sawtooth Botanical Garden in Hailey, Idaho.
The Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center is a gorgeous Phoenix attraction, and we encourage you to come out and enjoy the evening listening to an inspiring speaker and catch the seed saving fever!
Be sure to come to Rio Salado February 11th for a Seed/Seedling Swap!
